Signups for the all-new DG SmartPlan is open to all individuals - including new and existing DiGi subscribers, Mobile Number Portability (MNP) subscribers, DiGi Prepaid™ to DiGi Postpaid™ conversions and subscribers who are not under a contract.
Is the new DG SmartPlan available for new customers only?
No. All new and existing DiGi subscribers can sign up for this plan.
I am not Malaysian. Can I subscribe to the new DG SmartPlan and purchase a device from DiGi?
Yes. However, you must pay an additional deposit of RM500 on top of the required upfront payment.
I am currently subscribed to the old DG SmartPlan. Can I switch over to the new DG SmartPlan?

I am a DiGi Prepaid™ subscriber. Can I subscribe to the new DG SmartPlan without changing my number?
Yes, you can switch from DiGi Prepaid™ to the new DG SmartPlan without changing your number.
If I switch from DiGi Prepaid™ to the new DG SmartPlan, will my DiGi Prepaid™ credit be carried forward?
Yes, your prepaid credit (up to RM100) will be carried forward and used to offset your future monthly bills.
Can I use my DiGi Prepaid™ credit to cover the Upfront Payment for the new DG SmartPlan?
No, you can’t. However, your upfront payment and your remaining DiGi Prepaid™ credit that you have carried forward will be used to offset your future monthly bills.

What happens when I exceed my monthly Mobile Internet quota? Will I be charged for subsequent use?
No, you will not be charged when you exceed your monthly Mobile Internet quota – however your Internet service will be restricted until the next billing cycle.
 
However, you can still continue browsing via Opera Mini and message via WhatsApp for free. Alternatively, perform a Postpaid Internet Top-Up for as low as RM1 to continue surfing at regular speed – terms and conditions apply.
Can I tether on my smartphone via DG SmartPlan (i.e. share my smartphone’s DG SmartPlan Internet connection with other wireless-enabled devices)?
Yes, you can tether at no extra charge – however your Mobile Internet quota will be consumed.
Can I use the new DG SmartPlan to access the Internet while roaming? Will I be charged extra?

Can I use the bundled voice call minutes and SMS in the new DG SmartPlan while roaming?
All voice call minutes and SMS bundled in the new DG SmartPlan are applicable for domestic use only (within Malaysia). Voice calls and SMS while roaming will be chargeable on top of your monthly fee as per the standard Pay-As-You-Use rate.
There are no bundled voice call minutes under DG SmartPlan 50 – how will I be charge for voice calls?
For DG SmartPlan 50 subscribers, all voice calls are chargeable at 15sen/min on top of your monthly fee as per the standard Pay-As-You-Use rate.
The SMS bundled under DG SmartPlan 50 is only applicable for DiGi – DiGi SMS – how will I be charged for all SMS to other mobile operators?
For DG SmartPlan 50 subscribers, all voice calls are chargeable at 15sen/SMS on top of your monthly fee as per the standard Pay-As-You-Use rate.

Can I utilise Unlimited Weekend Calls (DiGi – DiGi) while roaming?
No, Unlimited Weekend Calls (DiGi – DiGi) is only applicable for domestic DiGi – DiGi calls (within Malaysia).
I signed up for DG SmartPlan 148 before 5 March 2014. Am I entitled for the Unlimited Weekend Calls (DiGi – DiGi)?
Yes, all existing DG SmartPlan 148 subscribers who signed up before 5 March 2014 are entitled to enjoy Unlimited Weekend Calls (DiGi – DiGI).
How do the bundled IDD calls under DG SmartPlan 148 work?
The bundled IDD voice call minutes is only applicable to six (6) selected countries – Chine, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, USA and Canada. Excess usage will be chargeable on top of your monthly fee on a Pay-As-You-Use basis.
Is the Budget IDD applicable on the FREE bundled IDD calls?
Yes, both Budget and Standard IDD calls are applicable.
What are the roaming charges?

Is the BlackBerry® Internet Service (BIS) or Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) included in my subscription when I sign up for the new DG SmartPlan?
No, you will need to add-on the BlackBerry® Internet Service (BIS) for RM10/month or Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) for RM20/month. However, this is optional.
If I subscribe to the new DG SmartPlan for my BlackBerry®, will I be able to access my work mail?
Yes, assuming that your company allows you access to your work mail outside the office. Please check with your company’s IT Team for further clarification.
What is the monthly Internet quota of my BlackBerry® service?
Currently, there is no limit to monthly Internet quota when using DiGi’s BlackBerry® services. However, DiGi reserve the right to impose the fair usage policy on DiGi’s BlackBerry® services in the event of abuse.
Please take note that all non-BlackBerry® related services will consume your Internet quota.
Can I sign up for the new DG SmartPlan with a device bundle contract?
Yes, device bundles will be offered with the new DG SmartPlan 78, DG SmartPlan 108 and DG SmartPlan 148.

Will my DiGi Prepaid™ credit and monthly rebates be used to cover my monthly fee and excess usages?
Yes, your DiGi Prepaid™ credit (when transferred) as well as your monthly rebates will be used to cover your total monthly usage.
Will there be a penalty if I terminate my contract before the end of my tenure?

How can I purchase a device bundle without Device Advance Payment?
You can only purchase a device bundle without Device Advance Payment if you're an existing DiGi Postpaid™ subscriber with a tenure of twelve (12) months or more.  If eligible, you are only required to pay the device price and Plan Advance Payment (or Upfront Payment, if applicable) – with the Device Advance Payment waived.
I would like to purchase a device bundle – what are the required upfront payments?
All new and existing DiGi Postpaid™ subscribers with tenure of less than 12 months are required to pay an upfront payment which includes the device advance payment and a one-month advance payment of your plan.
Can I pay for my device bundle (including the upfront payments) via credit card?
Yes, you can.
Can I pay for my device bundle via Easy Payment Plan (EPP)?

Can I register for supplementary lines under the new DG SmartPlan?
Yes, you can register up to six (6) supplementary lines (DG Smart Family or DG Family Postpaid) under the new DG SmartPlan.

What will happen if I exceed my monthly Smart Apps Quota? Will I be charged for extra usage?
No, you will not be charged extra when you exceed your monthly Smart Apps Quota. However, your Mobile Internet Quota will be used for subsequent usages.
What happens when I exceed my monthly Mobile Internet quota? Will I be charged for extra usage?

You will not be able to download the WhatsApp application once you have exceeded your monthly Mobile Internet quota – hence you are advised to download the application before your Mobile Internet quota is exhausted. Alternatively, you can perform a Postpaid Internet Top Up to download the application.
Will there be instances where my Mobile internet quota will be utilised when I use WhatsApp?
Your Mobile Internet quota will be utilised in the following instances:
  • Downloading the WhatsApp application from application stores

How do I download Opera Mini? How much does it cost?
You can download the application from your smartphone’s application store (Google Play for Android™ devices or App Store for iOS). The application itself is FREE.
I have exceeded my monthly Mobile Internet quota. Will I be able to download the Opera Mini application?
You will not be able to download Opera Mini application once you have exceeded your monthly Mobile Internet quota – hence you are advised to download the application before your Mobile Internet quota is exhausted. Alternatively, you can perform a Postpaid Internet Top Up to download the application.
Will there be instances where my Mobile internet quota will be utilised when I use Opera Mini?

I have unused Internet quota under Internet Top Up. Can I carry it forward to the next month or transfer it to another account?
No, all unused Internet quota under Internet Top Up cannot be carried forward nor transferred. Your unused Internet quota may be forfeited at the end of your current billing cycle, depending on the Internet Top Ups that you purchased.
How many Internet Top Ups can I purchase in a month?
You may purchase as many Internet Top Ups as you want in a month. However, please note that you may hit your monthly credit limit, and that any unused Internet quota will be forfeited at the end of the billing cycle.
How do I check the balance of my Internet quota?

How long will it take for my Internet Top Up to be activated?

Norton Mobile Security is a privacy and security app that protects your Android™ device against malicious software and unauthorised access in the event of theft or loss, while assisting you in recovering your device and data.
 
DG SmartPlan 78, DG SmartPlan 108 and DG SmartPlan 148 subscribers after 5 March 2014 will enjoy a premium license for FREE (until further notice).
Will I be able to enjoy Norton Mobile Security for Android™ if I sign up for DG SmartPlan 50 or if I am still subscribed to DG SmartPlan before 5 March 2014?
Yes, you do. Just SMS Norton 30 (RM3 for 30 days) or Norton 7 (RM1 for 7 days) to 20000 to subscribe to the premium license. A download link will be sent via SMS to you – you will not be charged for downloading and installing Norton Mobile Security.

You will not be charged for downloading and installing the Norton Mobile Security app – however using the app itself will utilise a small amount of your Mobile Internet quota. Standard Mobile Internet charges will apply – with roaming charges applying if you travel and use Norton Mobile Security.
Do I need to perform any additional signups or subscriptions to use Norton Mobile Security?
Norton Mobile Security activation will be triggered via SMS – however to fully utilise Norton Mobile Security, you will need to sign up for a Norton account with Symantec Corporation.
How do I get and activate Norton Mobile Security?
For DG SmartPlan 78 / 108 / 148 subscribers:
Visit this page to download Norton Mobile Security for free. You will not be charged for downloading and installing Norton Mobile Security. License activation will be done automatically.
 
For DG SmartPlan 50 subscribers:
SMS Norton 30 (RM3 for 30 days) or Norton 7 (RM1 for 7 days) to 20000.
 
A download link of the app will be sent to subscribers – no Internet charges will be incurred for downloading and installing the app.
How do I install Norton Mobile Security?
Follow these instructions to install and set up Norton Mobile Security:
  • Once you have downloaded the app, tap on the file through your status bar or through Settings > Downloads
  • Follow the installation instructions, no charges will be incurred
  • Launch Norton Mobile Security and proceed to Set Up Anti-Theft
  • Select Download Add-on and proceed to Google Play
  • Download and install the Norton Anti-Theft app
  • Open Norton Mobile Security and head to the Anti-Theft set-up page to nominate buddies to locate your device via SMS.
During installation, I was prompted with a warning – “This may cost you money”. Will I be charged?
No, you will not be charged – this is a standard warning built into Android™ devices.
I received a message "Install blocked: For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Google Play" when installing Norton Mobile Security. What should I do?
By default, your Android™ device is set to block installation of all apps that are not downloaded from Google Play.
 
To install Norton Mobile Security, you are required to allow the installation of non-Google Play apps.

LTE gives significantly higher download and upload speed, and also lower latency.
What LTE speeds can I expect when I sign up for DG SmartPlan 50, 78, 108 & 148?
In general, LTE is about 10x faster than the 3G network. Theoretically, LTE networks can go up to 150Mbps. However, the actual speed you get will fall within the range of 5 – 20Mbps. This is highly dependent on various factors such as network conditions, coverage, devices used, etc.
What is the spectrum / band supported on DiGi’s LTE network?
DiGi's LTE network runs on the 2600MHz spectrum, aka band 7.
Does my area fall under DiGi’s LTE network coverage?
DiGi's LTE network is now available in the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu. For a more detailed and updated coverage area, please refer to our online coverage map.
Do I need a USIM to enjoy LTE when I sign up for DG SmartPlan 50, 78, 108 & 148?
Yes, a USIM is required and you will be given a USIM upon signing up for the new DG SmartPlan.
Will I be able to enjoy LTE speeds If I upgrade from the old DG SmartPlan to the new DG SmartPlan?
Yes, you will be able to enjoy LTE speeds as long as you exchange your normal SIM for a USIM at a DiGi outlet.
I signed up for a DG SmartPlan before 5 March 2014. Will I be able to enjoy LTE?
We are in the midst of making this happen. LTE will be available very soon to all DG SmartPlan subscribers who signed up before 25 February 2014.

How do I know whether I’m already using a USIM?
You can send "SIM <phone number>" to 20000 to check. Alternatively, you can check the SIM card physically. A USIM should have a “U” below the DiGi logo.
What are the charges to replace a lost or damaged USIM?
Currently, charges to replace a USIM are as follows:

What is the difference between the current DiGi Voicemail service and DiGi Visual Voicemail?
DiGi Visual Voicemail does away with the need to dial 121 on your smartphone to access your voicemail messages with its immediate and user friendly design.
Do I need to have a mobile Internet connection to use DiGi Visual Voicemail?
Yes. You need a mobile Internet connection on your Android™ device to use DiGi Visual Voicemail.
Will I be charged for mobile Internet usage when I use DiGi Visual Voicemail?
No. You will not be charge for mobile Internet usage when you use DiGi Visual Voicemail. However, if you use DiGi Visual Voicemail while roaming, standing Internet roaming charges will apply.
Will usage of DiGi Visual Voicemail application consume my mobile Internet quota?

Existing DiGi Prepaid™ and DiGi Postpaid™ subscribers can also enjoy DiGi Visual Voicemail from 17 March onwards for FREE. All you have to do is follow the steps above to activate DiGi Visual Voicemail.
 
Alternatively, subscribers can activate DiGi Visual Voicemail via OCS – under the Service & Package section.
What is the voicemail message validity for DiGi Visual Voicemail?
All new and unread voicemail messages will be stored in the app for seven (7) days while voicemail messages that have been read will be stored for five (5) days.
